So easy to make with frozen pie sheets! Combined with the microwave and oven, you'll get a crispy apple pie in no time! ♪
Ingredients
2 servings- Frozen pie sheet (4-pack)2 sheets
- Apple2
- ★Sugarabout 80g
- ★Lemon juicea small amount
- ★Cinnamon sugarto taste
- ★Egg yolk (for brushing)to taste
Directions
35 min- 1
Cut 2 apples into quarters, remove the skin and core, then slice into thick ginkgo-shaped pieces.
- 2
Transfer the apples to a heat-resistant container, sprinkle about 80g of sugar on top, and add a small amount of lemon juice. Heat in a 600W microwave for about 4 minutes, stirring once halfway through.
- 3
After heating, transfer the apples to a colander and discard the excess liquid. This liquid can be repurposed for apple tea.
- 4
Add cinnamon sugar to taste to the apples and let cool slightly.
- 5
Use 2 frozen pie sheets. While still partially thawed, cut 1 sheet into 2 pieces vertically and 2 pieces horizontally, varying the sizes slightly for the horizontal cuts.
- 6
Make alternating cuts on the smaller pie dough pieces. While a knife works, using a dedicated pie cutter yields a cleaner finish. Once cut, gently spread the dough apart.
- 7
Place the stewed apples on the larger pie dough, brush the surface with egg yolk to taste, and bake in a preheated 200°C oven for about 20 minutes.
- 8
Once baked, enjoy it fresh from the oven for the best flavor. Any leftover stewed apples can be stored in a freezer bag with air removed.
Tips
Use frozen pie sheets while still partially thawed. Over-thawing makes them difficult to work with. Stir the apples once during heating for even cooking, and draining excess liquid in the colander ensures a crispy finish.
