Fluffy & Creamy Natto Gratin

Just layer tofu, egg, and natto (fermented soybeans) and pop it in the toaster — that's it! Fluffy, creamy, and absolutely irresistible for natto lovers!♪

  • Tofu200g (1/2 block)
  • Natto (fermented soybeans)1 pack (45g)
  • Cheese10g or as much as you like
  • ★Soy sauce1 tsp
  • ★Mayonnaise1–2 tsp (optional)

    Crack 1 egg into a bowl, add ★1 tsp soy sauce, and mix well.

    Add 200g tofu and mix roughly, leaving some larger chunks.

    In a separate bowl, mix 1 pack of natto (45g) with its included sauce until well combined.

    Pour the tofu and egg mixture from Step 2 into an oven-safe dish, then spoon the natto from Step 3 on top.

    Sprinkle 10g of cheese (or as much as you like) evenly over the top.

    Bake in a toaster oven or a 180℃ oven for 10–15 minutes, until the egg is fully set and the cheese is golden and lightly browned.

    Serve as is, or drizzle with ★1–2 tsp mayonnaise for extra flavor.

Tips

Silken tofu is recommended for a smoother, creamier texture, but firm tofu works fine too. If using a small (S-size) egg, reduce the tofu to about 150g for a better balance.
