Takoyaki Rice Cooked in a Rice Cooker

This delicious takoyaki rice is so easy to make in your rice cooker! The ginger flavor goes perfectly with the octopus - it's amazing!

Ingredients

  • Boiled octopus150g
  • Rice2 cups
  • ★Bonito dashi powder1 tsp
  • ★Soy sauce2 tbsp
  • ★Sake2 tbsp
  • ★Mirin1 tbsp
  • ★Minced ginger1 tbsp or more
  • Green onion (scallion)to taste
  • White sesame seedsto taste
  • Waterjust above the 2-cup mark

    Slice the 150g boiled octopus into 3mm-thick rings and chop the green onion into thin slices. Gently rinse the 2 cups of rice, drain in a colander, and let sit for 30 minutes.

    Transfer the rinsed rice to the rice cooker and add all the ★ seasonings. Place the sliced octopus on top, pour water just above the 2-cup mark, and cook.

    Once cooked, mix everything well and garnish with the green onion and white sesame seeds on top.

Tips

The flavor may vary depending on the soy sauce brand you use, so adjust the seasoning to your taste as needed.
