  • Short-grain rice2 cups
  • Bamboo shoots (takenoko)1 medium (about 200g)
  • Fried tofu (aburaage)1 sheet
  • Dashi stockto taste (or water with 2 tsp instant dashi powder)
  • ★Soy sauce2 tbsp
  • ★Sake2 tbsp
  • ★Mirin2 tbsp
  • ★Salt1/4 tsp (omit if using instant dashi powder)

    Cut the bamboo shoots into wedges. Cut the fried tofu in half, then slice thinly into strips.

    Add 2 cups of rice to the rice cooker, pour in the ★ seasonings, and add dashi stock up to the 2-cup line.

    Add the prepared bamboo shoots and fried tofu from step 1, then start the cooking cycle.
