

Tamo-chan's red shiso juice is the perfect refreshing drink for summer! Since it's a concentrate, you can enjoy it with water or sparkling water however you like ♪
Ingredients
8 servings- Red shiso leaves300g
- Sugar350g-800g
- Water2L
- Citric acid20g
- (Or vinegar as a substitute for citric acid2 cup)
Directions

Select only the red shiso leaves, remove the stems, rinse thoroughly with water, and drain in a colander to prepare.

Bring 2L of water to a boil in a pot, add the red shiso leaves, and simmer for about 5 minutes until the color fades from the leaves and the liquid turns purple.

Strain the cooked liquid through a colander, return it to the pot, add sugar, and dissolve completely.

Remove from heat, add citric acid (or vinegar), and mix well. The color will become more vibrant.

After cooling completely, transfer to a storage container and refrigerate. Freezing is also possible if needed.

When drinking, dilute with water or other liquids according to your preference.

Citric acid can be purchased at pharmacies for around 400 yen for a 50g package.

For vinegar, grain vinegar or apple vinegar are recommended. After exercise, you can also add a small amount of salt to enjoy it like a sports drink.
