    Fillet the mackerel into 3 pieces and cut each fillet into 3 equal portions. Adjust the size based on the size of the fish.

    Mix together the ★ seasonings (ginger to taste, garlic powder 1 tsp, soy sauce 2 tbsp, and sake 1 tbsp) to make the marinade.

    Place the marinade and mackerel pieces in a plastic bag, gently massage to coat, then refrigerate for 30 minutes to half a day.

    Coat each piece of mackerel with potato starch, then pan-fry in oil heated to low-medium heat until both sides are golden brown.

Tips
