- Oil for fryingto taste
- ▲All-purpose flour (optional)2 tbsp
Directions
25 min- 1
Cut the octopus into bite-sized pieces. Add ★1 tbsp soy sauce and ★1 tbsp sake, mix well, and let sit for 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- 2
Drain the excess liquid from the marinated octopus. Coat with ▲2 tbsp all-purpose flour, then generously coat with 2 tbsp potato starch.

Heat the oil for frying over medium heat. Once the oil temperature stabilizes, gently fry the octopus until golden brown.
- 4
When the entire piece turns golden brown with a crispy surface, it's done frying.
Tips
Keep the oil temperature slightly lower and fry for a longer time to achieve a crispy exterior while keeping the inside juicy. Coating with all-purpose flour helps the breading stick better and reduces oil splattering, though it cannot be completely prevented - stay cautious while cooking.
