Directions

30 min
  1. 1

Make shallow cuts along both sides of the 8 chicken wing tips following the bone to ensure even cooking.

  2. 2

Place the ☆ seasonings (2 tbsp soy sauce, 1.5 tbsp sake, 2 tbsp mirin, 1.5 tbsp sugar, and 1 clove minced garlic) in a small pot and bring to medium heat. Simmer until slightly reduced. Remove from heat and stir in the ★ seasonings until well combined.

  3. 3

Pour the flour into a plastic bag, add the chicken wings, and shake gently until evenly coated. Tap off any excess flour.

  4. 4

Arrange the chicken wings in a frying pan before heating and coat with oil (amount not included in ingredients). Allow the oil to heat gradually as you cook the wings, ensuring they cook through slowly.

  5. 5

Continue frying until the wings turn golden brown and crispy.

  6. 6

Transfer the fried wings to a bowl and pour the prepared glaze over them. Gently shake and turn the wings to coat them evenly with the glaze.

  7. 7

Once fully coated, the dish is ready to serve. You can sprinkle additional pepper to taste if desired.

Tips

Making cuts in the wings and frying them slowly ensures thorough cooking and keeps the meat juicy inside while the outside becomes crispy. If serving to small children, you may omit the pepper and add it separately for the adults.
